Our new place in California
When we were in San Jose for Devoxx US last March, we used the weekend to visit some houses. That's how we came across this beautiful house in Los Gatos:
We immediately loved the house, and decided to do a bid. That bid was accepted, and thanks to our agent, Grant Keeler, we managed to go through all the paperwork remotely. The sellers left the house in the last week of June, and we decided to use that last week of June and the first week of July to buy furniture, and to find some contractors.
The first thing that needs to be done, is to get a new roof. That was the first contractor we found. He'll start on July 31st. We also found a general contractor and an electrician. They'll do some work the first weeks of August. We are also giving the pool an upgrade. Those contractors will start on August 21st.
Once the pool is done, we'll need a new deck. We haven't found a contractor for the deck yet, but that's something we'll take care of when we return to Los Gatos in the second week of August. During that week, we'll also try to find furniture for the room where we'll put our office, and for the spare bed room.
